What happens after the listed date for my device/product?

From the listed date onwards, the surcharge functionality will be disabled and cannot be re-enabled.

Why is there a gap between the switch-off date and the deadline

We've scheduled your device to switch off a few days ahead of 1 October for Online Products, allowing our team time to complete the update across all devices & products currently surcharging, ensuring every product is compliant before the deadline. At the same time, this will give you a buffer to confirm everything is working as expected before the deadline takes effect.

Is there anything I need to do after the disablement?

For online products, including Hosted Payments Page, Online Gateway, Payment Links and Virtual Terminals, no action is required. The surcharge field on your portal and the surcharge option on your checkout page will be automatically removed as part of this change. For merchants using PAX, Verifone T650p or Ingenico Move 5000 terminals, an update will be pushed automatically at any time on the listed switch-off date. Please keep your terminal connected to power at all times to ensure the update is applied successfully.

If you're on an Ingenico Move 5000 and do not see the surcharge function disabled by 30 September, please perform FUNC 102 to refresh your terminal for the update to come through.

I have multiple terminals or locations; will they all switch off on the same date?

Yes. All products within the same category will have the surcharge functionality switched off on the same date. If you use different PayNuts products, such as terminals and online payments, each product will follow its applicable date in the schedule.

What happens if I don't surcharge via PayNuts  but through a third-party provider?

If you surcharge via a third-party provider, such as a point-of-sale system or ecommerce platform, please contact that provider directly to ensure surcharging is disabled ahead of the RBA deadline.

What should I do to prepare my business for surcharge disablement?

We recommend briefing your operations team on the switch-off schedule ahead of time, so your team knows what to expect and when. We also recommend that you remove all the surcharge signage according to the above schedule to avoid unnecessary confusion for your customers.
